5 Tips to win on online poker

Going through a round of poker can be an enticing way to spend time for many. Playing a hand and grabbing hold of some cash draws people into poker. And with the emergence of online poker, playing poker has become bigger than ever. The fact that people now can participate from the seats of their toilet or the comforts of their bed really helps. But as much leisurely this can sound, because there is money involved, winning is also important. Here are 5 tips to win on online poker.

Learn

One of the worst aspects of online poker is that often totally new players flop-in, dreaming about easy money and only end up crying. This happens because- believe it or not- online poker it simply too accessible. Any person with a PC or a phone can join online poker. This makes online poker dangerous. Whereas in real life poker, players who are starting out get kicked into learning by friends- with whom a player starts- or just the intimidation of playing can force newbies into learning, in online poker, nobody tells them to learn. Thus, unaware of any of the proceedings, these players lose bags of money. To begin with, learn about the different types of poker like ‘Texas hold’em’ or ‘Blackjack’. Then learn what each different terms and jargons mean. And lastly, learn the ranking of each hand.

Bluff-meister

Bluffing in poker is what makes good players great. When playing a hand, you will miss the turn or the flop quite a bit of times. It is better if you can make the other players fold. Better players know when it is time to bluff. One of the more important steps is to put down a c-bet (continuation bet) and keep the round moving. Bluffing can also eb a disguise. You can draw you opponents into thinking that you are trying to buy the pot out but in reality, you have a decent hand.

Alternatively, you do not want to bluff too much. When bluffing, you can run down your chips quickly. This is exaggerated when you are facing a station that does not acknowledge your bluffs. You can put in smaller stake, more calculated bluffs in situations where there are chances of your hand improving. Other than that, too much bluffing will only do harm.

Fold when needed

Folding in poker can be boring. This happens especially more when you are sitting in front of your PC and feel utterly useless doing nothing. But folding is the sensible thing to do in many situations. And folding can be the strategy that saves you and wins you money. The beauty of online poker is that you can have multiple hands going simultaneously. Also, in faster forms of play, you can go through a lot of hands. As such, it is sensible to fold in and not take risks with weaker hands.

Don’t play too much

Can there be anything as playing too much? Yes, there can. In a brick-and-mortar building, paying real poker, you can only play at a single table. But in online poker, there is practically no limits to how many tables you can play. This tempts newer players a lot. Often times they think that the more tables they play the better. You might think this is an easy way of winning more money. However, it is not. Poker is a game that requires attention and carefully thought-about decisions. Playing multiple tables divides the attention and takes away the care. All-in-all, the chances of you landing an aggregate loss in comically high. So, stay focused on a solitary table especially if you are new.

Also, as a side note, pay attention. It can be alluring to scroll through your social media feed, or watch a video, but please desist. Pay your complete attention to the game.

Mind your position

Knowing your position on the table is key. If you are on an earlier position, you have less information of the round. You have to take decisive actions. You also have to face the raises or re-raises. Often times, if you are in an earlier position, you will be stuck making calls. In a later position, you have more info f the round. Chances of you facing an immediate raise lower. And you can calculate better. On you poker table it is imperative you have you position in mind and take actions accordingly.

End

Online poker is a booming and alluring attraction. Whilst many just stroll across in low stakes hands to spend some time, others can it extremely seriously. In either cases, winning is important. With the listed out tips in mind, your chances of winning can surely rise.

Why Poker Is the Best Game to Play Online

Online poker has undoubtedly taken the online world by storm.

It has provided a unique opportunity for top poker players to enjoy poker action against other opponents without having to leave home.

Read on to find out the reasons why poker is the best game to play online.

Why Poker Is The Best Game to Play Online_

Why Poker is the Best Game to Play Online: Online Poker vs. Live Poker

The rules of poker are the same whether you play in person at a live poker game or against a random opponent online. The only downside is that when you’re playing online poker, you won’t be able to look anyone in the face to see their expression or to second-guess what they’re thinking.

One of the main reasons that online poker is popular is that it not only is a fun game but it’s also an intellectual game requiring actual skills whilst winning real money, no matter how small the stakes are.

1. Convenience

While the waiting around time is one downside to live poker as compared with online, players can sometimes overlook the fact that playing live requires you to commit a couple of hours at least to being in one place. A major benefit of online poker is that you can play for as long or as short a time as you want.

On top of this, the growth of mobile and tablet technology, and even the increase in more compact laptops, means you can play online poker anywhere with an internet connection. No longer will you need to miss out on a hand to step outside for a cigarette or move within range of television to catch the last over of the cricket. With online and mobile poker, you can take the game with you rather than leaving it behind.

2. Sharpen Your Skills

Another benefit of online poker is that there are games for players of all skill levels. In case you have been playing a game at your local casino and feel like you need some challenge, you can join poker online sites.  In online poker, games are running 24/7. This gives you an endless supply of chances to practice and improve your game.

3. Speed of Play

A typical live poker game will deal around 25-30 hands per hour. Short-term variance takes a lot longer to overcome. Cash game players will have to play many more hours of live poker, compared to its online counterpart, in order to realize their true win rate. Live tournament players might not ever be able to play enough tournaments to outrun the high-variance nature of multi-table tournaments.

Online poker gets to the long run far more quickly. A typical full-ring online poker game will yield 60-80 hands per hour, and for a six-max game, some sites can deal upwards of 90 hands per hour. Those numbers are just for a single table. Online poker allows for multi-tabling, and an adept multi-tabling player can reach hundreds of hands per hour and thousands per day.

4. Save You Money

Think back to the last time you played poker at a casino. How much was the minimum buy-in? How much were people tipping the dealer when they won a big pot? How much was one big blind at the lowest stakes cash game?

Chances are, even the lowest of these figures is far higher than some of the buy-ins available for online cash games and tournaments. When you’re starting out playing poker you will want to practice bankroll management, and if you’re starting small then a cheap online game is surely preferable to a casino game where you have to put down a huge chunk of your bankroll just to play.

And that’s not even factoring in the cost of fuel, or the hours spent driving to the casino which could be spent playing and making money online. These things might seem small, but they will add up.

5. No Waiting Around

A casino makes some money from poker, but often not as much as it does from the games with a house edge, such as blackjack and slots. Hence, there may be a limit to the number of poker tables available, and by extension a limit to the number of seats available.

Rather than whiling away your time on a waiting list until there is a seat open, good online poker sites allow you to find a vacant seat right away, at whatever stakes you want to play. And of course, without the stress of waiting around, you will be calmer and more focused on your game.

Conclusion

Online poker is a platform that tests your game and your skills like mathematics, psychology, patience, instinct, etc. What makes online poker so popular is that there are games available for all the players at all skill levels. If you have been playing poker at the casino and feel your game is getting boring, you might need to sharpen your skills in ways that a live game isn’t offering.

No Limit Texas Hold’Em Basics

Texas Hold’Em  is one of the most popular variants of the card game of poker.

Two cards, known as hole cards, are dealt face down to each player, and then five community cards are dealt face up in three stages.

The Flop: The first three community cards.

The Turn: The fourth community card.

The River: The fifth and final community card.

In no-limit hold’em , players may bet or raise any amount over the minimum raise up to all of the chips the player has at the table (called an all-in bet). The minimum raise is equal to the size of the previous bet or raise. If someone wishes to re-raise, they must raise at least the amount of the previous raise.

The goal of a Texas hold’em game is to use your hole card and in combination with the community cards to make the best possible five-card poker hand.

If the betting causes all but one player to fold, the lone remaining player wins the pot without having to show any cards.

For that reason, players don’t always have to hold the best hand to win the pot. It’s always possible a player can bluff and get others to fold better hands.

If two or more players make it all of the way to the showdown after the last community card is dealt and all betting is complete, the only way to win the pot is to have the highest-ranking five-card poker.

Poker Hand Rankings are as follows.

One pair beats no pair.

Two pair beats one pair.

Three of a kind beats two pair.

A straight beats three of a kind.

A flush beats a straight.

A full house beats a flush.

Four of a kind beats a full house.

A straight flush beats four of a kind.

A royal flush beats a straight flush.

The beautiful Grand Casino As. Is located on the west of the Czech Republic and is hosting the Pokio Poker Cup with a massive €65,000 Guaranteed in tournaments, the main event is €50,000 alone.

Held over 4 days and 5 day 1 events the final will be on Sunday 4th October. Could I spin up a ticket for €5? Or even one of the packages to include the hotel stay for €10? HEALTH AND POKER

Any repeated activity or hobby does not just shape us as personalities and can tell a lot about one’s character, but also, inevitably, affects our bodies and minds.  And if you are a fan of Poker, it is important to fully understand the impact it can have on your health.

There are many advantages to adding the game into your daily  schedule, although many will find this to be not very obvious or even counterintuitive. Once you give it some time and thought, however, you will realize that there are surprising benefits to playing poker, particularly for your mental health and fitness.

Despite being considered a game of luck, poker is so much more that that! In fact, results of the game often correlate more with the player’s skill, experience and wit rather than just with the cards dealt.  So becoming better in poker, means acquiring or strengthening those qualities. And as in any sports, the more you train the ‘muscle’, the stronger you get.

  • Poker is the game of numbers and probabilities (after all, it IS about money and combinations of cards)
  • Poker is the game of focus and concentration (monitoring other players’ steps, working out your own strategy, trying to assess possibilities)
  • Poker is a game making decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Poker is a game of observation, patience, and self-control (tournaments can last for extended time periods, and whether it’s a live game or an online event – players who control their emotions and actions, who avoid repeated patterns and examine other player’s behaviors etc. tend to perform better)

Taking all of the above into consideration, it’s no surprise that poker can be viewed as a training gear for your brain, mind control and skills that are helpful in your daily work life.  As well as type of activity that helps to prevent Alzheimer’s and other mental health issues.

Another big aspect worth mentioning is that this game is a type of hobby that can aid one in ‘de-stressing’, switching focus and unwinding after a long day at work by having fun and interacting with other players! As such, it serves to be a good replacement for television or video games and can provide more social involvement.  This argument is obvious for the live games, but even in online gaming there are ways to communicate, for example through group chats, where you can discuss games, learn strategies, exchange tips and get acquainted with people who share the same passion.

For all the benefits, playing poker can be stressful for your body.  However, that is easily overcome by simply being aware and following general health guidelines.

The basic rules are:

  • keep proper posture: whether you are at casino or at home taking part in online tournaments, and even if you are busy with work or other daily  activities – this rule is good for any situation!  Keeping the right posture is number one rule in staying healthy!
  • avoid sitting for a long time: try to take breaks every now and then, stand up, take a couple of steps and enjoy some simple stretching.
  • be mindful of the time dedicated to the game:  this is especially important for those who prefer online gaming.  Daily screentime is best kept within certain limits.  Occasionally taking breaks and letting your eyes rest is good rule of thumb. This can be combined with some light physical activity, as described above.
  • do your best in following a healthy diet: once again, very basic principle that cannot be overlooked.

The ‘body-mind’ connection rule works in poker as in any other aspect of our life. So by taking care of your body, you are increasing your chances of success in everything you do, including Poker!

To conclude, poker when played responsibly can be very beneficial for your mental agility, intellectual and social skills.  So whether you are playing for fun, for money or to socialize – you are also improving your mental health and empowering your mind!
